Route Features
A6 / Boorea Street
You’ll drive a section of the A6, known locally as Boorea Street - a wide, multi-lane route with higher speeds, making it a prime place to prove you can handle busier roads confidently.
Our Tip: Choose your lane early, keeping a consistent speed, and concentrate on your lane positioing to avoid drifting over the lines.
Yarram Street
This quieter, residential connector will lead you to busier sections of the route. You’ll have to maintain awareness of the parked cars and any turning vehicles as you approach the roundabout.
Our Tip: Scan ahead for parked cars and watch out for side streets—steady speed and gentle steering go a long way.
John Street Roundabouts
The route uses John Street’s pair of small roundabouts - firstly to continue straight and then to return back onto the same street. They are perfect examples of small, well managed suburban roundabouts that shouldn't trip you up if you take your time.
Our Tip: Slow as you approach, give way to traffic already using the roundabouts, and demonstrate good timing by signaling left just before you exit.
Parramatta Road (A44)
Before returning to the service centre, you’ll merge onto the busier, multi-lane A44. It can feel a bit daunting when learning, but will soon become the perfect road to showcase your ability to re-join faster-moving traffic.
Our Tip: Accelerate smoothly to match the speed of the traffic flow, and signal clearly as you merge.
All Auburn test routes are ready to go on our app. Whether you practise one a day, or all in one go, you’ll be a better prepared driver for it.
