Route Features
Blacktown Road
You’ll start and finish your route on Blacktown Road - a busy arterial that stretches through both residential and commercial areas. It’s wide, with multiple lanes and traffic signals along the way which will help build your confidence.
Our Tip: Choose your lane early to avoid any last-minute stress, keep your speed consistent, and be prepared for upcoming traffic light changes.
Prospect Highway
This is considered a major connector, with higher speed limits and increased traffic compared to surrounding roads. The upgrade works have been completed, so the road is now smoother.
Our Tip: Keep steady on your approach, checking your mirrors often, and avoiding any lane weaving.
Best Road / Cornelia Road Roundabout
This roundabout junction is used a number of times in the route - first from Best Road, then again returning. It’s a moderate-sized, multi-lane roundabout, with clear markings but will still require you to demonstrate good judgment. Local traffic reports highlight it as a safe, well-managed intersection.
Our Tip: As you approach the roundabout, slow down, pick the correct lane, and give way to vehicles already circulating.
Toongabbie Road Roundabout
At this stage of the route you’ll enter a roundabout on Toongabbie Road, take the 2nd exit, and then continue straight along a road that carries steady suburban traffic. It's an important part of the route, but shouldn't present too many issues if taken carefully.
Our Tip: Slow down your apprach speed, watch for vehicles from all directions, and time your signals properly - right when entering, then left just before you exit.
There’s no better way to prepare for your test at Blacktown than driving every official route - and they’re all available in our app.
