Route Features

Botany Road

An arterial running from central Sydney through Botany towards Mascot and Port Botany - which sees over 15,000 vehicles daily.

  • Our Tip: Gain confidence in your lane positioning, merging, and be ready to share the road with buses and trucks. Use your mirrors often when changing lanes on this busy road.

Cranbrook Street / Hastings Street Roundabout

Connecting residential Cranbrook Street to commuter Hastings Street... council traffic rules frequently limit heavy vehicle movements here.

  • Our Tip: As you approach, slow smoothly and check all entry lanes. Signal clearly on exit onto Hastings Street and maintain speed to the roundabout exit.

Wentworth Avenue Ramp

The ramp linking Botany Road to Wentworth Avenue often sees congestion, especially after incidents on nearby roads.

  • Our Tip: Use the ramp to practise accelerating smoothly and mirror checks before you merge into lane. Plan for any potential slowdowns ahead and change your speed accordingly to the current traffic flow.

Alfred Street Roundabout

This small suburban roundabout channels vehicles towards King Street and the Wentworth Avenue ramp and frequently appears in test routes.

  • Our Tip: Treat each roundabout exit with equal care. Enter slowly, give way correctly, and signal in advance of your intended exit.
