Route Features

Bunnerong Road

You’ll drive Bunnerong Road several times - it’s a busy arterial that passes Westfield Eastgardens and features shopping traffic, bus lanes, and residential turns.

  • Our Tip: Keep a steady pace, get in the correct lane early, watch for buses turning, and signal clearly.

Anzac Parade

One of Sydney’s main public-transport corridors, with bus lanes and a number of pedestrian crossings. It’s a relatively fast-moving, divided road which requires confidence to navigate.

  • Our Tip: Position yourself carefully, maintain a speed consistent with the flow, and try to avoid any sudden lane changes.

Botany Street Roundabout

The roundabout along Botany Street can get busy, and will require good lane positioning and awareness to show the examiner you’re in control.

  • Our Tip: Slow before entering, give way to any traffic on the right, and be sure to signal clearly just before exiting.

Banks Avenue Roundabout

Just before returning to the centre, you’ll need to take the first exit on this roundabout. Though it's a straightforward layout, these smaller suburban roundabouts highlight observation and signalling skills.

  • Our Tip: Treat as you would a larger roundabout... keep your speed low, choose the correct lane, yield appropriately, and signal as you exit.

Parking for Driving Tests: If you’re booked in for your practical test, use the Wentworth Avenue entrance and head up the ramp to Level 2 of the Red Car Park. Park near the Myer entrance in the allocated test bays - short walk to the service centre.

Public Transport: There is a stop less than 200 metres away and an accessible walking path to the centre.

Accessibility Support: There is wheelchair access throughout the facility, and a low-sensory environment during Quiet Hour.

Quiet Hour: During this time, all lighting is reduced, background music switched off, and mobile phone use discouraged.

Facilities: A public toilet less than 50 metres from the service centre is handy for those with appointments.

Booking Your Practical Test

It's easy to book your test - but you’ll need to do it in advance, as tests are by appointment only and slots fill up quickly!

Head to the Service NSW website where you can choose Eastgardens as your test location, check the available times, and lock in your preferred booking. Don’t forget to select the correct test type for your licence class.

Once confirmed, you’ll receive important details, including where to park (hint: Level 2 Red Car Park near the Myer entrance).
