Key Route Features
Edgeware & Victoria Roads Intersection
Connecting two busy roads with several turning lanes and lights makes for a common stress point during driving tests. Victoria Road curves and changes character through the suburb, so lane discipline is as important as ever.
Our Tip: Stay centred in your lane and observe the intersection in advance. When turning left from Edgeware onto Victoria, make sure you position correctly to avoid drifting into adjacent lanes.
Addison Road near Livingstone Road
A local thoroughfare serving schools, parks, markets, and cultural centres, with bus stops and a dedicated bike lane on one side. Speed humps and pedestrian crossings can be found between Neville Street and Livingstone Road.
Our Tip: Watch carefully for cyclists filtering past, and always perform a shoulder-check before moving left or right near parked vehicles.
Illawarra Road
A fast-moving arterial route linking Marrickville to surrounding suburbs like Sydenham and Dulwich Hill. It features pedestrian crossings, complex intersections, and tram tracks at certain points.
Our Tip: Don’t rush - keep your position and stay alert for people crossing at both marked and unmarked crossings.
Murray Street Roundabouts (near Edinburgh Road)
The roundabouts, particularly those connecting to Edinburgh Road and Chapel Street, are compact, low-speed roundabouts. The road is residential, and you may make multiple laps to check your roundabout control.
Our Tip: Approach slowly and confidently. Give way to the right, but don’t hesitate too long - examiners watch for decisiveness.
