Car Test Route #01
- Start by driving southwest on East Market Street.
- Turn left onto Brentwood Avenue.
- Take the next right onto Annette Place.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Laurence Street.
- Turn right onto Town Street.
- Then turn right onto Hereford Street.
- Take the next left onto Laurence Street.
- At the roundabout, take the first exit onto East Market Street.
- Turn left onto Grose Street.
- Turn left onto Lennox Street.
- Then turn right onto Bosworth Street.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on Bosworth Street.
- Turn right onto Francis Street.
- Turn right back onto East Market Street.
- You’ve arrived back at your destination.
Richmond Roads to Look Out For
East Market Street
This busy street runs through central Richmond and often carries steady traffic, especially near the historic civic precinct. It’s also part of the local Alcohol-Free Zone, meaning no street-side drinking is permitted, reducing the amount of distractions.
Our Tip: Stay alert at the traffic lights for pedestrians near the town centre, and maintain smooth speed control to fit in with the flow.
Bosworth Street Roundabout
Located at Bosworth and March Street, this roundabout was part of a Transport for NSW upgrade to improve traffic movement. It's a key junction that can get congested during peak hours.
Our Tip: Practise solid roundabout technique... approach slowly, yield to traffic from your right, signal early when exiting, and choose your lane well in advance.
Grose Street
Running near landmarks like the Richmond Post Office, Grose Street passes through zones that can have slower traffic or pedestrian activity.
Our Tip: Keep a steady speed, watch for cars coming in and out of parking areas, and practice gentle braking for a controlled drive.
Lennox Street
This residential street connects Grose and Bosworth Streets and is often used by locals, with parking and side-street traffic common.
Our Tip: Use Lennox Street to refine your observation skills - check mirrors frequently, be ready for parked cars pulling out, and maintain a safe gap at all time.
