Route Features to Watch

The Horsley Drive

Linking the M7 and Cowpasture roads, traffic can fluctuate on this arterial road making it a key part of the route to practise.

  • Our Tip: Approach the Horsley Drive roundabouts with caution, and follow the correct roundabout etiquette. Be ready for any sudden braking ahead and carry out your merge with care.

Victoria Street

An industrial area that has seen significant development which has generated local traffic and congestion concerns.

  • Our Tip: Expect occasional slow-downs and to share the road with heavy vehicles. Keeping a safe distance, signalling early, and remaining patient are key skills to master.

Gipps Street Roundabout (at Charles Street)

This single-lane roundabout is used twice on this test route. Fortunately it’s a straightforward layout and with the correct technique shouldn't be of concern.

  • Our Tip: Practising this sequence a number of times will help sharpen your roundabout technique in a controlled environment.

Neville Street

Flanked by residential properties and side streets, makes Neville Street a quieter environment, albeit with potential hidden-driveway hazards.

  • Our Tip: Drive with care through all residential stretches, watch for cars pulling out, pedestrians crossing, and maintain a steady speed.
